Info & History in Twain Harte

Twain Harte
The Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce office can answer questions about what's available in the area. Most of the Gold Rush activity was in the foothills, but the miners did build a flume through Twain Harte to carry water. Later a hard rock mine was build in Confidence, shown by a marker. The Twain Harte library has some historical material.

The Foothills
The Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau maintains walk-in information offices at their headquarters on Stockton Street and at a "Vacation Station" satellite information office on South Washington Street, both in downtown Sonora. Sonora, Jamestown, and Columbia (and other towns that now only consist of a historical marker) are sources of rich history.
